Overview:
The Senior Java Development Lead plays a pivotal role in guiding an engineering team dedicated to the design, development, and upkeep of Digital Technology systems and software solutions. This position leverages technical expertise to address business challenges through a structured and methodical approach. The Lead Engineer employs various technologies, including software, hardware, and communication tools, to fulfill project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy software systems and applications.
- Lead a team of engineers towards achieving shared objectives.
- Create comprehensive technical design documents.
- Engage in the testing and validation processes.
- Support, operate, and maintain software systems and applications.
- Monitor system performance and conduct predictive maintenance.
- Utilize Agile methodologies in software development.
- Ensure alignment with product owner goals.
- Interpret and apply methods and procedures in line with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Over 10 years of software development experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with Java EE.
- Proficient in Maven-based Spring/Spring Boot (experience with reactive programming is advantageous).
- Familiarity with Microservice architecture and design patterns (event-driven experience is a plus).
- Experience with relational databases and stored procedure design (NoSQL knowledge is beneficial).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Containers, GitOps, and Jenkins is a plus.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and practices in computer science or engineering.
- Ability to communicate and implement technical solutions effectively.
- Proven collaboration skills with technical colleagues.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- May mentor and guide junior team members as needed.
- Exhibit creativity in analytical and problem-solving tasks.
- Well-versed in methodologies, tools, best practices, and processes relevant to the role.
