About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Space Exploration Support Engineer to join our team at Kennedy Space Center. This exciting opportunity involves supporting the development and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing engineering drawings and schematics for accuracy and completeness
  • Utilizing MS Excel extensively for data analysis and reporting
  • Providing logistics support analysis for equipment and systems
  • Conducting heritage assessments of equipment and systems
  • Setting up indentured parts lists and analyzing acquisition strategies
  • Identifying maintenance significant items, recommending spares, setting up min/max inventory, and performing make/buy analysis
  • Identifying shelf-life items and checking supportability of training relating to equipment
  • Identifying consumables, chemicals, HAZMAT items, and safety data sheets for commodities
  • Reviewing existence of Operation and Maintenance Instructions (OMIs) for equipment
  • Analyzing transportability for new parts and equipment
  • Providing internal/external customer support
  • Sustaining system support, ML-2 development, parts obsolescence, and other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Additional education may be substituted for relevant experience.

Work Environment

This role requires working in various environments, including indoors and outdoors, with potential daily travel to different areas on site. Walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and platforms may be necessary. A safe working environment is essential, adhering to NASA and company safety standards.
