Lead Analytics Engineering Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Pfizer is on the lookout for dedicated, enthusiastic, and results-driven professionals to become part of our Analytics Engineering division. This role focuses on constructing robust data frameworks and tools that will shape the future of our operations. You will be responsible for designing and executing scalable, flexible, and highly available data pipelines that handle large datasets, enabling significant insights and strategic direction for our offerings. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven team player, proficient in a wide array of data processing methodologies, capable of adapting and learning swiftly, and delivering results with minimal guidance. The ability to select the most effective data processing solutions is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the head of Analytics Engineering, this individual will work in tandem with data scientists, reporting and visualization experts, and business and marketing teams to pinpoint requirements that will lead to the development of data pipelines and additional data products. You will collaborate closely with Pfizer's Digital team to grasp the architecture and internal APIs involved in current and future initiatives. We are in search of an exceptional individual to play a crucial role in assisting analysts and business users in making data-driven decisions through visualizations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Translating business needs from various teams into data and engineering specifications.
- Creating scalable datasets based on specifications derived from available raw data, leading to actionable business metrics and insights.
- Identifying server APIs that require instrumentation for data analytics and aligning events for execution within established data pipelines.
- Exploring and comprehending complex datasets, formulating correlational rules between diverse sources for effective analytics and reporting.
- Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data utilized for analysis.
- Developing Python and Shell scripts for data ingestion and integration from external sources to derive business insights.
- Collaborating with data scientists to construct scalable modeling feature pipelines.
- Working closely with analytics and data science teams to create robust data pipelines and analytical visualizations.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 6+ years of experience OR PhD with 2+ years of experience.
• Degree preferably in engineering, economics, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Significant professional experience with Big Data systems, pipelines, and data processing.
• Preferred experience in Applied Econometrics, Statistics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Analytics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
• Practical, hands-on experience with technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Pig, Apache Hive, Apache Sqoop, and Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with Dataiku is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proficient in understanding API specifications, identifying relevant API calls, extracting data, and implementing data pipelines and SQL-friendly data structures.
• Ability to establish data validation rules and alerts based on data publishing specifications to ensure data integrity and detect anomalies.
• Knowledge of various distributed file formats such as Apache AVRO, Apache Parquet, and common data transformation methods.
• Expertise in Python, Unix Shell scripting, and dependency-driven job schedulers.
• Proficiency in Core JAVA, Oracle, Teradata, and ANSI SQL.
• Familiarity with rule-based tools and APIs for multi-stage data correlation on large datasets is a plus.
• Demonstrated diverse leadership experiences and capabilities, including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, mentor and develop others, and guide colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. This role is also eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary, as well as eligibility for our share-based long-term incentive program.
