Cloud Native Developer Undergrad Intern

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cloud Native Developer Undergrad Intern to join our Datacentric Platforms and Architectures Department. As a Cloud Native Developer Undergrad Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud native applications to solve some of the toughest problems currently facing the space enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing cloud native applications to support analysis and Mod&Sim platforms in the areas of launch, orbit analysis, and more.
  • Working with and learning from a group of developers and subject matter experts to support a broad array of space-related projects and advance your own skills.
  • Leveraging the cloud to provide data engineering and data architecture solutions as our customers' data volumes continue to grow at exponential rates.
  • Interfacing with project leaders, product owners, and customers to convey your key contributions to a project.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Intermediate programming ability in Python and/or Java.
  • Ability to containerize an application using Docker.
  • Hands-on experience with utilizing REST APIs.
  • Ability to use Git for source control.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience using FastAPI or Flask (Python) and/or Springboot (Java) to develop microservices.
  • Ability to create REST APIs.
  • Ability to deploy applications to Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Intermediate programming ability in C, C++, Rust, and/or Go.
  • Ability to create and deploy Helm charts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps concepts and/or practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with relational, non-relational, time series, and/or graph databases.
