TSR Consulting Services, Inc. is a distinguished staffing organization with a legacy of over 50 years in the industry.
We are currently seeking an Automation Specialist / Associate Scientist for a contract role within a prominent pharmaceutical organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize extensive expertise in liquid handling robotics and related instrumentation to enhance laboratory automation.
- Innovate and implement advanced methodologies for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and cell-based workflows.
- Conduct various experiments aimed at improving high-throughput screening capabilities using patient-derived organoid models.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary scientific teams to contribute to significant drug discovery initiatives.
- Maintain and operate common automation instruments utilized in NGS workflows.
- Possess a strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology, including practical experience with NGS assays.
- Develop and uphold Installation Qualifications (IQ), Operational Qualifications (OQ), and Performance Qualifications (PQ) protocols alongside Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory automation systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, such as Python.
- Program and troubleshoot workflows on liquid handling platforms, including Beckman-Coulter and Dynamic Devices.
- Integrate liquid handling robotics seamlessly with supporting instruments to execute complex biological workflows.
- Automate and validate standardized assays, including DNA/RNA purification and NGS library preparation.
- Enhance process efficiency through troubleshooting and design of user-friendly automation processes.
Work Location: San Diego, CA
Compensation: $41-43/hour W2
