Job SummaryWe are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac PCU team at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age-specific groups. You will utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department.
Responsibilities- Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines, including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
- Makes appropriate decisions and interventions and nursing diagnosis according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs.
- Develops and implements an individualized plan of care, prioritizing and completing follow-up assessments, evaluating, and modifying the plan as needed.
- Utilizes knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with the unit patient population.
- Follows strict infection prevention precautions and adheres to policy and procedure regarding all aspects of medication safety.
- Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, completing thorough hand-off communication in all situations.
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Advanced Life Support Certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements.
- EKG.
- 1 year of recent RN PCU experience.
Our 4 South Multi-System PCU is located on the 4th floor of Altamonte's main tower. We have a diverse, collaborative, and teamwork-centered team, with a 4-5 nurse/patient ratio and support staff of PCT and Nurse Techs. We have a unit educator who ensures our staff maintains unit-required CEUs and is also a great resource to our staff and management.
