Key Responsibilities
This role involves equipping program participants with essential skills and knowledge for successful community reintegration through various educational modules. You will be expected to embody and apply the principles of effective intervention in all interactions.
- Deliver cognitive behavioral curriculum in both individual and group settings, focusing on motivation for change, social adjustment, and personal management.
- Review and enhance curriculum resources to boost participant engagement in life skills programming.
- Maintain accurate class rosters and attendance records, issuing completion certificates as necessary.
- Assess participant needs and facilitate appropriate referrals.
- Provide counseling on self-esteem, problem-solving, and interpersonal relationships.
- Guide participants in developing comprehensive post-release plans and encourage accountability for their actions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or a related field is required.
- Previous experience in facilitation, education, or group moderation is essential.
- Experience in a correctional environment is preferred.
- A valid state driver's license is necessary.
- Professional interaction skills in both individual and group settings are crucial.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Familiarity with the correctional system and current policies is important.
- Understanding of effective intervention principles proven to reduce recidivism is necessary.
- Ability to collaborate with a team and implement strategic approaches to assignments is vital.
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software is expected.
