Position Overview
The Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the Department of Anesthesia by ensuring the availability and functionality of necessary equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities
The technician's duties encompass a range of activities aimed at facilitating safe and efficient anesthetic care:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, including cultural sensitivity and patient rights.
  • Participate in quality assurance and maintenance activities to uphold service standards.
  • Assist in evaluating new products and provide constructive feedback on their usage.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with patient billing processes.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment, including cleaning, sterilizing, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Support anesthesia providers with intra-operative tasks, including fluid management.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental committees.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment through regular housekeeping duties.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Prepare and manage patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems.
  • Conduct effective problem-solving to address departmental challenges.
  • Ensure proper disposal of non-controlled pharmaceuticals.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and skill enhancement.
  • Assist in training new staff and students in the role of anesthesia technician.

Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, along with at least one year of relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and operating room protocols.

Licensure and Certification
Current BLS - Basic Life Support certification is required.

Compensation
The base pay scale generally starts at $44.08 per hour, with final compensation determined by various factors including experience and qualifications.
