Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Waterworks Inspector III to join our team at the County of Kaua'i. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for inspecting complex waterworks construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and established standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect a variety of waterworks construction projects, including pumping stations, treatment plants, reservoirs, wells, laboratories, and appurtenances.
  • Supervise other inspectors and personnel as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school.
  • Two and one half (2 1/2) years of inspectional or investigative work experience involving the enforcement of laws, ordinances, and/or rules and regulations.
  • Two and one half (2 1/2) years of work experience related to pipeline installation or other related waterworks construction or installation.
  • One (1) year of work experience involving the inspection of pumping stations or treatment plants.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools used in the construction and installation of waterworks systems.
  • Ability to apply proper construction project inspectional methods and techniques.
  • Ability to analyze construction problems and make decisions.
