Job DescriptionThe Department of Physics at UMass Amherst invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in theoretical or computational physics with a focus on soft matter, statistical physics, or biomaterials. The department has a thriving research community with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration. We seek candidates with a strong research agenda who will complement our existing strengths in soft and bioinspired matter, statistical physics, and quantum matter.
Requirements- Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Physics or a related field
- Relevant postdoctoral experience
We are seeking talented applicants qualified for an assistant professor position. Highly qualified candidates at higher ranks will also be considered. The expected start date for this position is September 1, 2025.
