Job SummaryThe Department of Biology at UMass Amherst invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Eukaryotic Genetics. We seek a highly qualified candidate who will establish a vibrant research program, teach and mentor students, and contribute to departmental service.
Responsibilities- Establish a research program in Eukaryotic Genetics, with a focus on genetic mechanisms of inheritance, genotype-phenotype connections, and the genetic basis of eukaryotic development or function.
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in modern genetics, contributing to the department's mission.
- Contribute to departmental service, including committee work and outreach activities.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Biology or a related field, with relevant postdoctoral experience. We are seeking talented applicants qualified for an assistant professor position. Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may receive consideration.
