Position Overview: The Fixed Income Settlements Associate is crucial in facilitating the smooth and effective settlement of fixed income transactions within a self-clearing framework. This role encompasses the management of all facets of the settlements process, including Fed, DTC, and Euroclear Settlements, alongside expertise in tri-party processing. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a self-clearing setting and possess extensive knowledge of both Fed and DTC settlements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the complete fixed income settlements workflow, including trade confirmation, reconciliation, and handling exceptions.
  2. Exhibit a thorough understanding of all back-office operations associated with fixed income trading, such as trade capture, clearance, and settlement.
  3. Ensure compliance with all pertinent regulatory standards and industry best practices, demonstrating knowledge of Fed, DTC, and Broadridge Shadow systems.
  4. Continuously evaluate and improve settlement processes and protocols to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
  5. Identify and address settlement-related risks, implementing necessary controls and safeguards.
  6. Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, including trading desks, compliance, and risk management teams, to promptly resolve settlement issues and concerns.
Required Skills and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's Degree.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a self-clearing environment.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of fixed income settlements processes and procedures.
  4. Familiarity with Fed, DTC, and Broadridge Shadow systems.
  5. Possession of FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  7. Understanding of fixed income products, markets, and trading strategies is advantageous.
  8. Strong grasp of FINRA regulations, particularly concerning fixed income trading, is a plus.
  9. Ability to identify innovative ways to streamline existing processes.
  10. Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is essential.
  11. A collaborative team player who can effectively work with various functional areas within the firm.
