Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at SST Direct. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including trucks, tractors, and cranes. Your duties will include:

• Coordinating with the equipment department to ensure efficient maintenance and repair operations
• Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires
• Using diagnostic software and test equipment to identify mechanical problems and make repairs
• Installing and repairing special equipment, such as hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and transmissions
• Troubleshooting malfunctions and making emergency repairs in the field
• Complying with safety and environmental regulations, such as those from OSHA and the EPA
• Instructing operators on how to use and service equipment
• Keeping records and making reports

Qualifications for this role include:

• A minimum of 5 years of repair experience, preferably on underground equipment
• Must be a certified diesel mechanic
• Must be able to perform jobsite equipment service and repair
• Must have Heavy Equipment Operator experience
• Welding certification, or capability
