Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Insight Global. As a Mechanical Technician, you will work alongside other contractors and government personnel to develop and execute novel testing plans. You will interpret engineering designs, plans, and diagrams into test setup requirements, assist in configuring and operating industrial testing equipment, and operate and maintain hydraulic and pump systems. Additionally, you will install test sensors and control systems, perform unscheduled maintenance, and conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside other contractors and government personnel to develop and execute novel testing plans.
- Interpret engineering designs, plans, and diagrams into test setup requirements.
- Assist in configuring and operating industrial testing equipment for test events.
- Operate and maintain hydraulic and pump systems.
- Install test sensors and control systems.
- Perform unscheduled maintenance, including inspecting equipment and systems, troubleshooting and repairing faulty equipment units, and performing part or machine disassembly/reassembly as needed.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to plan and schedule repairs.
Requirements
- Experience with industrial hydraulics and pumps highly desired.
- Experience with actuators, strain gauges, control systems, fiber optics, and data acquisition devices.
- Minimum of 3 or more years of related experience in automotive/diesel repair/maintenance, industrial machinery repair/maintenance, or other relevant field.
- Experience reading and understanding mechanical and electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Mechanically inclined with a desire to learn and troubleshoot on the fly.
- Understanding of general maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and techniques for industrial machinery or auto equipment.
