Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Services Specialist to join our team at Scotland County NC. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our offices and buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain offices, hallways, elevators, windows, and stairways
  • Sweep, mop, and scrub floors; vacuum carpet
  • Dust, polish, and wash woodwork, fixtures, and furniture
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles; dispose of trash
  • Maintain bathrooms in a sanitary condition; fill tissue, towel, and soap dispensers
  • Sanitize surfaces multiple times a day throughout buildings
  • Put up supplies; order supplies or report needs to supervisor; mix cleaning chemicals
  • Lock and unlock doors
  • Wash walls, windows, shelves, and mirrors
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs; arrange furniture
  • Sweep sidewalks; pick up outdoor trash from grounds and parking lots; operate a leaf blower
  • Change light bulbs and perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections and exit lights
  • Report items requiring repair
  • Clean up bodily fluids in accordance with bloodborne pathogens guidelines and handle biohazard bags
  • Assist with shampooing carpets and stripping, waxing, and buffing floors
  • Assist as needed with inclement weather and emergency operations
  • Attend training including bloodborne pathogens, CPR, and first aid
Requirements
  • Ability to read and write
  • Some experience in building cleaning work
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to perform the basic life functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
  • Visual acuity to recognize areas requiring cleaning and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work performed
