About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Manager to join our team in Austin, TX. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing Federal environmental remediation projects, managing and directing professional and technical staff, and leading teams to complete complex environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
  • Lead teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices
  • Utilize existing technologies and experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
  • Analyze financial statements and complete budget tracking
  • Perform work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
  • Oversee the preparation of work plans and organize project studies
  • Perform complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
  • Supervise junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
  • Conduct reviews and provide staff feedback for continued improvement
Requirements
  • BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License is required
  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional License (PE, PG, PMP, CHMM, or similar)
  • 10+ years' experience in environmental remediation (soil, ground water, surface water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management
  • Master's degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
  • Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy)
  • Thorough working knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA and TRRP
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
  • Interest in business development
  • Have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, Treatability Studies, Remedial Design, and Remedial Action Construction, in support of Federal environmental projects
  • Occasional overnight travel required
  • Familiarity with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
