Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Ambulatory Care Nurse to support our team in providing comprehensive care to patients. The successful candidate will work closely with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care, assess patient responses to various treatments, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Collect patient health history and record information in electronic health records
- Provide information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans
- Administer medications, including vaccinations, IV therapy, and oxygen administration, as prescribed by licensed providers
The Ambulatory Care Nurse will be responsible for supporting the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and performance evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. This includes ensuring clinical compliance with Patient Safety initiatives and reporting, supporting key quality initiatives, and participating in designated activities related to NYULH clinical standards and regulations.
Professional DevelopmentThe successful candidate will engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote their own professional growth and development. They will seek, acquire, and maintain current nursing knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities as an FGP Ambulatory Nurse.
Implementation/Provision of CareThe Ambulatory Care Nurse will execute medical regimens as prescribed by licensed providers, assess patients, identify unmet patient needs, and plan comprehensive care to meet those needs. They will also collect patient healthcare data systematically and continuously, using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments.
