About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our team at the Viking Group. As a Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accounting systems, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of bi-weekly payrolls for salaried and hourly employees for seven companies (1,300+ employees) across 33 states.
  • Maintains and reviews timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, pay rates, payroll taxes, garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hours laws and best practices.
  • Resolve any issues/questions by supervisor or other parties in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provides support for audits, both internal and external.
  • Reviews and processes expense reports.
  • Assistance with benefit plan administration including discrimination testing.
  • Be willing and adaptable to assist in other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, precision, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Be a good teammate - commit to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field or comparable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, including payroll related GL postings and reconciliations.
  • Five (5) years experience in payroll administration.
  • Multi-state payroll experience.
  • Proficient with payroll software. Knowledge of ADP related products is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Oracle JD Edwards is preferred.

Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience. The Viking Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
