Job Description
The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist plays a crucial role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients, participating in patient care rounds with medical staff, and supporting clinical pharmacists and technicians in their educational development. This is an excellent opportunity to work with two growing service lines: internal medicine and pulmonary care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provision of pharmaceutical care to patients
* Offer general and patient-specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
* Interact regularly with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal pharmaceutical care
* Support clinical pharmacist and technician educational development through departmental staff development programs and leadership in the education of staff
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A PharmD or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
* Completion of a post-graduate residency or fellowship training
* Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligibility for reciprocation within 90 days of hire
* Experience in a clinical specialist or equivalent role, including 50% or more time spent in the specialty area
Preferred Qualifications
* Board certification
Work Environment
This position involves working rotating day and evening shifts, with prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Normal or corrected vision is required, along with the ability to clearly communicate verbally.
