Job Overview

The role of the Customer Service Banking Specialist is pivotal in providing exceptional service to all clients of THIRD COAST BANK. This position entails offering guidance on the bank's array of products and services, assisting in the establishment of new accounts, and ensuring adherence to financial regulations. The specialist works closely with the Lobby Manager to enhance customer satisfaction and experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management:

  • Conduct interviews with prospective clients to facilitate their banking needs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the bank's offerings.
  • Assist in the opening of new accounts and the management of existing accounts for both individual and business clients.
  • Collect and verify necessary identification as per regulatory requirements.
  • Process requests such as ATM card issuance and online banking setups.
  • Promote and inform clients about various bank products.
  • Manage certificates of deposit and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA).
  • Serve as a Notary Public when necessary.

Teller Operations:

  • Efficiently manage a teller cash drawer.
  • Assist clients with deposits, withdrawals, and other banking transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all banking regulations.
  • Provide account information and promote additional bank services.
  • Reconcile cash drawer at the end of each day.

Safe Deposit Box Management:

  • Oversee the administration of safe deposit boxes.
  • Update account files and contracts related to safe deposit boxes.
  • Authorize access to the Safe Deposit Box Vault.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies regarding safe deposit boxes.

Stay informed about the bank's product offerings and services.

Foster a collaborative environment to contribute to the overall success of the bank.

Respond to phone inquiries, assist callers, and direct them as needed.

Perform departmental functions as required.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Employment Type:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a standard work schedule.

Travel Requirements:

No travel is necessary for this position.

Work Environment:

The role is situated in a professional office environment equipped with standard office tools.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves various physical tasks, including writing and lifting.

Cognitive Requirements:

Strong problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement, along with experience in teller operations and account management. Familiarity with banking regulations and computer systems is essential. Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
