Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at a top-rated hospital in southern California. As an Overnight Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Verification: Read, interpret, and verify physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Medication Preparation: Prepare and distribute medications to patients, ensuring optimal formulary compliance.
  • Compounding and Dispensing: Accurately compound and dispense extemporaneous preparations and controlled substances.
  • Parenteral Products: Prepare parenteral products using aseptic technique.
  • Therapy Implementation: Implement appropriate age-related therapy, pharmacokinetics dosing, and perform and document drug therapy interventions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to provide correct drug and dosage form of delivery for age group and collaborate with nursing to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy considering the age of patient.
  • Code Blue Team: Participate as an active member of the Code Blue Team.
  • Drug Distribution: Perform the day-to-day responsibilities of drug distribution, drug order entry, processing, and verification.
  • Clinical Rounds: Serve as an effective participant on clinical rounds and participate in meetings and programs, as needed/assigned, to promote patient care and provide understanding and optimal drug therapy.
