Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak. As a key member of our Laboratory Department, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of disease, analyzing and assuming accountability for accurate test results.
- Understand, perform, and practice preventive maintenance on equipment; troubleshoot and take corrective action.
- Understand, perform, and practice quality control management to include running controls, evaluating data, documentation of data, and taking corrective action as required.
- Anticipate and evaluate need for new methods, instrumentation, and technology in terms of customer need, cost benefit, and revenue generation.
- Assure compliance with accrediting agencies and act as a resource to customers both within the department and outside the department.
- Manage assigned projects to include developing a plan, coordinating necessary resources, setting project timelines, keeping Manager informed of progress, and completing project within established time limits.
- Minimum Education and Experience: A. High school diploma (or equivalent), with 15 years of clinical lab experience OR B. Associates Degree with minimum 2 years experience in Clinical Lab setting. -OR- C. Bachelor's Degree required with clinical lab experience preferred.
- Minimum License and Certificates Required: One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT) Certification is waived for those with 5 years of lab experience.
