About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Maintenance Manager to join our team at Symbotic. As a key member of our Customer Operations organization, you will be responsible for leading the daily activities of the Maintenance Department in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer safety processes and procedures.
  • Conduct safety training and perform safety observations.
  • Execute Symbotic's maintenance program through training, accountability, and delegation to maintenance technicians and leads.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians and leads, including assigning work and determining work schedules.
  • Coach maintenance employees on professional development.
  • Actively pursue measures to reduce downtime on production equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and coordinate initiatives to reduce operating costs.
  • Complete tasks in a timely and organized manner.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the timely completion of maintenance work orders.
  • Deploy industry-standard continuous improvement and operational excellence practices.
  • Contact vendors and subcontractors as needed.
  • Purchase materials, parts, and supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records and paperwork.
  • Coach team members on troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Maintain work areas to plant standards of housekeeping.
  • Responsible for continuous cleaning and adhering to 5S policies.
Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or equivalent field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Progressive coaching and counseling concepts to provide continuous feedback on performance.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation communications skills.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience, preferably Maximo.
  • Proficient in performing all Preventive Maintenance Inspection functions.
  • Strong electro-mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work independently following maintenance procedures and manuals.
  • A high sense of urgency.
  • Takes critical feedback and recognition positively.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
