About the Role

The Manager of Automation Maintenance Operations is a critical position within the Customer Operations organization at Symbotic. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and maintenance of our robotic material handling system. As a leader in this field, you will be responsible for planning and executing daily activities, supervising maintenance technicians, and implementing procedures to maintain a high level of system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer safety procedures and protocols.
• Conduct safety training and perform safety observations to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Execute Symbotic's maintenance program through training, accountability, and delegation to maintenance technicians and leads.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and leads, including assigning work and determining work schedules.
• Coach and develop maintenance employees to improve their skills and performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and waste, and implement measures to achieve these goals.
• Coordinate initiatives to reduce operating costs and improve system efficiency.
• Complete tasks in a timely and organized manner, and plan and schedule maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion.
• Deploy industry-standard continuous improvement and operational excellence practices, including root cause corrective action programs.
• Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results.
• Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records and other paperwork.
• Coach and facilitate troubleshooting and problem-solving with the maintenance team.
• Maintain work areas to plant standards of housekeeping and adhere to 5S policies.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position, with a strong background in electro-mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation communication skills.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience, preferably Maximo.
• Proficiency in performing all preventive maintenance inspection functions, including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checking, current measurements, and checking electrical systems.
• Strong electro-mechanical skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High sense of urgency and ability to take critical feedback and recognition positively.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
