At Apple, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation and technology. As a Battery Algorithm Specialist, you'll play a critical role in developing and qualifying advanced lithium ion battery technology for portable power consumer applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop battery firmware, algorithms, and battery management system (BMS) qualification protocols.
  • Work with FW, Algo, and BMS engineers to improve quality and productivity.
  • Develop simulation and physical tests to validate State of Charge and State of Power of battery systems.
  • Analyze and report qualification result data.
  • Standardize qualification test plans across labs to improve uniformity and reliability of qualification data.
  • Develop verification methods to detect battery abnormalities early in the NPI design process.
Requirements:
  • Experience in BMS algorithm and software, with a mix of QA and development.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, C/C++.
  • Knowledge of Li-Ion and related cell chemistries.
  • Experience with battery testers to evaluate algorithm performance.
  • Excellent debugging skills and analytical/problem-solving skills.
