Job Summary

Urban Youth Impact is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Food and Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing a comprehensive nutritional food program for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement engaging student food preparation programs, take-home menus, and value food purchase options.
  • Logistics and Scheduling: Coordinate with the CREATE Manager to facilitate food and nutrition training programs, and oversee the scheduling and logistics of student lunch times.
  • Teaching Kitchen Management: Maintain a clean and efficient Teaching Kitchen, ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely reporting requirements for the National School Lunch Program, and develop a strong relationship with the FDACS accredited food service vendor.
  • Community Outreach: Promote nutritious food programs and support to parents of students through special outreach programs and guest speakers.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree or diploma in a related field, or 3 years of experience in the food service industry.
  • Certifications: Nutrition certification a plus.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership: Good leadership and problem-solving traits, with the ability to foster compliance and on-schedule event planning.
What We Offer
  • Part-time Position: 25 hours per week.
  • FLSA Nonexempt Hourly Position: 10-month employment.
  • Background Check: All applicants will be required to complete a Level-2 background check.
