Position Overview:

Sovah Health is seeking a qualified individual to undertake receptionist, registration, and administrative responsibilities related to both direct and scheduled patient admissions.

Welcomes patients, gathers demographic and financial details, secures necessary signatures, and processes payments from patients.

Assists in all aspects of scheduling, pre-registration, and registration tasks.

·Ensures that all required demographic, billing, and clinical data is collected and accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner.·Distributes forms, documents, and educational materials to patients and/or their families.·Engages with patients and/or caregivers to exchange essential information and documentation.

Provides clarity on processes and addresses any concerns or inquiries.·Communicates with the admitting physician's office, nursing unit personnel, and/or other relevant staff regarding admissions to share necessary information and determine patient placement.·Schedules appointments and informs relevant departments and colleagues of any scheduling modifications.·Verifies insurance benefits and confirms authorizations/pre-certifications.·Reviews physician's orders for completeness and compliance, including covered tests and prior authorizations, ensuring all forms and records are complete.

Completes cost estimations, reviews upfront collection processes, processes payments, establishes payment plans, and assesses the patient's ability to pay, escalating issues as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills: Basic knowledge of CPT & ICD10 codes is essential. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Payers, as well as Medical Terminology, is required.
Typing speed of 30 WPM with a high degree of accuracy is necessary.
Must demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to work independently. Capability to function in a high-pressure environment and take appropriate actions is essential.

Medium Critical Thinking Skills: Must be cross-trained in two or more areas of Patient Access and be adaptable to departmental needs.

Willingness to work in the Emergency Department is required.
Ability to assess relevant CPT & HCPCS codes and confirm that necessary authorizations have been secured is essential.

Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is necessary to ensure appropriate and continuous care for patients at Sovah Health across all units.

Minimum Work Experience: One to two years of customer service and/or healthcare experience is preferred. EEOC Statement:
