Job Summary

Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. is seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer to transport waste and recyclables to designated disposal sites and recycling plants.

Responsibilities
  • Operate Tractor Trailer Safely: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies, while operating the tractor trailer.
  • Timely and Efficient Pickups and Deliveries: Safely transport trailers to designated destinations, maintaining a timely and efficient schedule.
  • Route Management: Maintain and update route sheets to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of waste and recyclables.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the tractor trailer is in good working condition.
  • Log Maintenance: Maintain and update driver logs to track hours, mileage, and other relevant information.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with internal and external customers to provide excellent service and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with colleagues, management, and customers.
Requirements
  • Valid CDL: Possess a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
  • DOT Medical Card: Hold a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one prior to hire.
  • Age and Experience: Be at least 19 years old and have at least 2 years of previous CDL truck driving experience.
  • Driving Record: Have no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years and no DUIs or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
  • Language Skills: Be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate effectively.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to Weather Conditions: Work in various weather conditions, including high traffic and tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to Waste and Recycling: Be exposed to residential and commercial waste and recyclables.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
