Position Overview

As a Project Manager at McWhirter Steel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of steel construction projects.

You will be responsible for project planning, execution, and client management, ensuring that projects are completed on time, under budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Scope Management: Define, document, and manage project scope, ensuring that project deliverables align with client expectations and contractual agreements.
  2. Project Planning: Collaborate with the team to create project plans, schedules, and budgets that ensure project success.
  3. Project Execution: Oversee and manage project teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, under budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  4. Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and securing repeat business.
  5. Cost Management: Be proactive in controlling project costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  6. Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project teams, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  7. Quality and Safety: Ensure projects meet the highest quality and safety standards, striving for zero accidents.
  8. Construction Drawing Verification and Review: Review and verify construction drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  9. Job-Site Visits: Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor project progress, assess quality, and address any on-site issues promptly.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the steel construction industry.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, cost control, RFI, Change Order, scope, construction drawing verification, and job-site visits.
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industry safety regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software.
