Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Paramedic/Firefighter to respond to medical emergencies, including in-flight emergencies, structural emergencies, and ground emergencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing emergency medical care, extinguishing fires, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including in-flight emergencies, structural emergencies, and ground emergencies.
  • Provide emergency medical care, including administering drugs, performing first aid, and using advanced life support equipment.
  • Extinguish fires, including wildfires, using various strategies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with a team of firefighters to implement backfire or burnout operations.
  • Search for, rescue, and administer emergency first aid to victims of fire or other catastrophic events.
  • Patrol and oversee burned areas after a fire to identify and extinguish hotspots that could reignite.
  • Review and analyze weather and topographical data to predict fire behavior or risk areas.
  • Drive and operate vehicles and equipment used in fighting fires.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Actively participate in ongoing training, seminars, conventions, and conferences to maintain knowledge of current firefighting practices.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (Associates Degree Preferred)
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification as a paramedic at the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) level
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times with or without assistance.
  • Must maintain qualifications to the Army Air Force Joint Prehospital Emergency Care Protocols.
  • Successful passage of physical exam and fitness test.
  • Complete a Work Capacity Test (Arduous Pack Test) upon hire and annually.
  • Qualification as National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2)
