Job Title: Systems Expert

Job Summary:

The Systems Expert is a key member of our IT team, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting systems, software, and other solutions to meet the needs of our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of IT systems, software, and hardware, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and support systems, software, and other solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Lead IT projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize IT projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain system configuration documentation, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in network and operating system design, test, and maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing/implementing server/clients with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Platforms and Federation Services.
  • Experience managing/implementing Windows Server technologies, Active Directory, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware vCenter/ESXi, VMware Horizon) – VM Deployment, Monitoring, Configuration, Setup, and Expansion.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP, Load-Balancers, etc.).
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • Must have well-refined troubleshooting skills, ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify and resolve systemic problems.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with SAN, NAS, Virtual Storage and Backup technologies (Nimble, Veeam, vSAN, and/or DataDomain).
  • Administration experience on Microsoft Enterprise CA – Cert Requests/Monitoring.
  • Administration experience on Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
  • Administration experience on Microsoft File Server (DFS-R/DFS-N, ABE) – File Share Requests, Recovery, Permission Management.
  • Administration experience managing/implementing an Enterprise Backup Solution.
  • Familiarity with Information Assurance programs is a plus.
  • Microsoft PowerShell Scripting for Server/Platform management.
Security Responsibilities:

The Systems Expert must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

While performing the duties of this class, an employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear, in person, in meetings and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate computers or other standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to walk and stand and occasionally to lift up to 50 pounds

Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.

Must be able to work overtime. on and off-shifts as required.

The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.
