Position Overview:
In this role, you will join a skilled maintenance team responsible for executing pipefitting and welding duties both in the maintenance shop and on-site at various heights to ensure the upkeep, repair, or replacement of equipment within a chemical production environment.
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is based on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to guide installation processes.
- Maintain machinery (including pumps, turbines, compressors, and piping) to exact specifications.
- Rebuild and fabricate components while conducting preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Execute tasks within vessels and tanks as required.
- Perform plumbing repairs and replace pipes, including insulation work.
- Utilize hand tools for repairs, such as valve replacements.
- Operate forklifts and man lifts safely.
- Engage in physical activities including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting.
- Be available for overtime and on-call duties during weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a pipefitter/welder.
- AA Degree or relevant Technical Certifications preferred.
- Proficient in TIG and shielded metal arc welding on high-pressure stainless steel and carbon steel piping per ASME Code.
- Successful completion of welding tests on GMAW and SMAW according to R Stamp Procedure.
- Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
- Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures effectively.
- Commitment to working safely and promoting the health and well-being of yourself and others.
