Job Summary

The City of Arlington is seeking a highly skilled Graduate Engineer to support the development and implementation of the Water Utilities Department's infrastructure Asset Management Program. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of our assets, providing technical assistance, and supporting asset management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing support to sustain the Water Utilities Department's infrastructure asset management program following industry-established principles, methodologies, and standards.
  • Provide technical assistance with the implementation and maintenance of established standards, systems, and procedures, including:
    • Improving asset reliability.
    • Reducing risk.
    • Optimizing departmental resources.
    • Maintenance of asset inventories.
    • Condition assessment standards.
    • Preventive maintenance systems.
  • Support asset management projects, including:
    • Small diameter sanitary sewer CCTV assessment projects.
    • Large diameter sanitary sewer multi-sensor instrument assessment projects.
    • Large diameter water electromagnetic assessment projects.
  • Utilize asset condition and performance data to prepare data-driven renewal recommendations and projections for proposed capital projects.
  • Review, interpret, and evaluate engineering drawings, studies, specifications, models, estimates, and other technical documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited program.
  • Capable of obtaining Professional Engineer License in Texas upon completion of required engineering experience.
  • Engineering-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License (min. Class C).
