Job Overview

Role Summary:

This position involves specialized recreation leadership in the planning, organization, and execution of diverse recreational programs at municipal facilities such as parks and community centers.

The Recreation Activities Coordinator is tasked with promoting, organizing, and leading a variety of engaging indoor and outdoor activities, including sports and games for participants of all ages across multiple recreation venues. Responsibilities also encompass overseeing routine maintenance duties, including litter control, landscaping, irrigation, and preparation of sports fields.

Employees in this role operate with a significant degree of autonomy, managing activities with designated groups in alignment with the broader recreation initiatives set forth by management. Limited supervisory responsibilities may be assigned to oversee staff engaged in recreation and maintenance tasks, with performance evaluated through direct observation of program success and facility inspections.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in delivering, performing, or instructing various art forms, including but not limited to dance, drama, music, theater, visual arts, or similar disciplines.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of a Level 2 Background Check is required.
