Job Title:
Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary:
Shuvel Digital is seeking a skilled Inpatient Coding Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts of high complexity using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding classification systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Assign ICD-10 CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10 PCS procedure codes for assigned accounts.
Conduct audits and provide consultation on specific projects.
Review medical records and documentation to determine appropriate codes to assign.
Maintain productivity standards, tracking, and deadlines.
Act as a mentor to training coders and new hires by providing education and training.

Requirements:
Licenses/Certifications: CCS, RHIT, RHIA preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of acute care hospital experience.
Experience with IP/OP edits, complex case mixes, and EHR systems.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS coding principles, DRG assignment, MCC/CC capture, and federal, state, and payor-specific regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of coding accuracy and attention to detail.
