- Management of chronic conditions
- Pediatric care for common illnesses
- Diabetes management
- Hypertension and high cholesterol treatment
- Women's health services
Position Summary:
The Medical Doctor will oversee the delivery of all medical and professional services within the primary care framework.
The incumbent will ensure effective communication among medical, nursing, social work, and administrative teams, while coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical examinations, evaluations, and assessments, providing diagnoses and treatment to patients.
- Deliver direct patient care daily, ensuring all medical records are accurately documented, including compliance with Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payer requirements.
- Work according to the scheduled shifts and may rotate through various health centers.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans based on assessed medical conditions.
- Refer patients to specialists and coordinate with relevant healthcare components as necessary.
- Guide and oversee the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as safety and infection control standards.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and participate in educational programs focused on patient care.
- Involve patients and their families in the decision-making process regarding treatment options.
- Meet productivity benchmarks and collaborate with various departments in managing patient care.
- Perform all credentialed medical procedures in accordance with established standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the rights and privacy of all individuals.
- Comply with all relevant policies, laws, and accreditation standards.
- Exhibit behaviors that reflect service excellence and core values of compassion, accountability, respect, and expertise.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, with a preference for primary care experience in an outpatient or clinic setting.
- Doctorate degree in Medicine is mandatory.
- Valid Florida Medical License and DEA board certification (Family Medicine) are essential.
- Additional specialty certifications are advantageous.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire, with maintenance throughout employment.
