Job Summary:

The Accountant II is a key member of the Christus Health accounting team, responsible for preparing general ledger month-end journal entries in accordance with US GAAP. This role requires a strong understanding of financial accounting principles and the ability to analyze and explain financial data to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries with complete and accurate supporting documentation.
  • Perform variance analysis on assigned accounts to both budget and trend, and provide explanations to the accounting lead and manager for month-end review of financial statements.
  • Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist the accounting lead and manager with information requests from other teams across the System, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of accounting experience required.
  • General Ledger accounting and Healthcare accounting experience preferred.
  • Candidates seeking CPA license preferred; some assistance available for those seeking licensing.
