About the Role

The University of Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Post-Award Senior Grant Specialist to join our University Research Administration team. As a key member of our Sponsored Program Services (SPS) team, you will provide expert support to faculty researchers in managing their sponsored research portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial management of faculty members' sponsored research funding, including expenditure and budget reviews, audit of invoices and billings, and monitoring accounts.
  • Work directly with Principal Investigators (PIs) or their delegates to facilitate management of grant activities, including preparing financial reports and projections.
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate staff on research compliance and sponsored program management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely service to departments, units, and sponsors, and perform back-up duties during staff vacations or sick leaves.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent financial management and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty researchers, staff, and sponsors.
  • Knowledge of sponsored program management principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
