Municipal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager. This role will involve working directly with our professionals, collaborating with staff at other office locations, and contributing to the growth and success of our company.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in municipal engineering, with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience. They will be responsible for attending meetings of the municipal governing body, reviewing and evaluating municipal development applications, and preparing reports as required.

The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the firm in all related areas. They will be a team player, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend meetings of the municipal governing body and other municipal officials as required
• Familiarization with the Municipal Code of various municipalities for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating Municipal Development Applications
• Attend meetings of Land Use Boards and prepare reports as required
• Interact with clients as well as various departments within the company
• Knowledge of applicable local, county, and state stormwater management and soil erosion control standards
• Analyze engineering sketches, drawings, specifications, plans, and related data to perform necessary reviews
• Collaborate with team, including mentoring of junior engineers
• Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and construction issues
• Review project shop drawings
• Attend project meetings with clients
• Prepare monthly status reports for review by the clients
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, establish project budgets and construction cost estimates, and monitor daily progress through project close, and projects from beginning to end
• Complete assignments on schedule and within budget
• Engage in marketing related to maintaining existing clients as well as pursuing new opportunities

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, NJ PE required;
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience of relevant municipal engineering experience
• Certified municipal engineer preferred
• Experience with representing utility authorities and municipalities a plus;
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D;
• Strong people and communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to represent the firm in all related areas.
