Mobility and Orientation Expert

Virginia Jobs is seeking a skilled Mobility and Orientation Expert to join our team. As an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals who are blind or have low vision to achieve their desired level of independence and employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and develop individualized orientation and mobility plans to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Provide instruction and training on safe and efficient travel techniques, including the use of canes, walkers, and other assistive devices.
Collaborate with our rehabilitation team to ensure a comprehensive approach to blindness rehabilitation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as special education or rehabilitation counseling.
Certification in orientation and mobility, such as COMS or NOMC.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and teams.
