Key Responsibilities:- Monitor laboratory operations daily to ensure quality levels of performance are maintained and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Oversee Pathology and Autopsy operations, ensuring that all services are performed in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure that the quality control program is effective and corrective actions are taken when necessary.
- Manage laboratory staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures for resource utilization, service standards, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
- Assist with planning and developing departmental operational goals, evaluating current and future technology within the laboratory.
- Prepare and maintain capital and operational budgets, operating the department within budgetary constraints.
- Current license as a Supervisor in the specialty/specialties required by the laboratory section in the State of Florida.
- Certified by a professional laboratory-certifying agency, i.e. by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or eligible.
- Five (5) years of Clinical Laboratory experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Graduate from an accredited school of Laboratory Technology, Bachelor's Degree in a related field, and completion of one-year clinical laboratory training internship.
- Computer knowledge, including Laboratory Information System (LIS), Hospital Information System (HIS), and personal computers.
