Awake Overnight Caregiver

Salary Range: $16.25 to $17.50 Annually
NORTH SUFFOLK COMMUNITY SERVICES INC is seeking dedicated Awake Overnight Counselors to provide exceptional direct care services to adults with developmental disabilities. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to empowering individuals to achieve their fullest potential. We welcome both entry-level and seasoned professionals to apply for positions in our residential homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remain alert and accessible to residents throughout the overnight shift until the morning staff arrives.
- Conduct hourly security checks to ensure the safety of individuals and the facility.
- Maintain confidential records by documenting each individual's progress.
- Complete cleaning tasks and other duties based on individual needs and schedules.
- Write daily notes at the end of the shift, documenting any incidents and maintaining communication with team members.
- Perform medication counts as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Ranging from zero to six years of relevant experience in child care, elder care, or direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health needs.
- Skills: A valid Massachusetts Driver's license is required. Candidates must be or be able to become MAP certified and obtain CPR/First Aid certification within five months of hire (training provided).
