We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the company.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
- Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the leadership team.
- Supervise investment and cash management strategies.
- Oversee the capital structure of the company, determining the best mix of debt, equity and internal financing.
- Work towards the strategic financial objectives of the company.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Develop internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
- Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances and develop corrective actions.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, within the Engineering industry.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management and change management.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and related tools.
- Ability to work with large volumes of data and to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
