Key Responsibilities:

Patient Management:
  • Conduct thorough intake processes, gathering essential medical histories, allergies, and vital signs.
  • Perform evaluations before, during, and after treatments to ensure patient readiness.
  • Utilize medical instruments to confirm observations and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.

Clinical Support:
  • Collect blood and other specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Provide care for ostomies and stomas, along with education on wound management.
  • Assist healthcare providers during various medical procedures.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient reactions.
  • Initiate and manage IV therapy as prescribed.
  • Document patient responses and communicate changes to the healthcare team.

Record Keeping and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper data entry.
  • Guide and mentor other medical assistants and volunteers.

Supply Management:
  • Oversee the inventory of medical supplies and ensure readiness of emergency equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of medical equipment for safety and compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Current certification from recognized medical assistant organizations.
  • Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
