POSITION TITLE: Medical Staff Operations Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Manager, Medical Staff Services

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is essential in providing comprehensive support and coordination for medical staff operations. Responsibilities include preparing for meetings and assisting with provider credentialing as necessary. The position requires maintaining a professional and productive relationship with all levels of personnel and physicians. The incumbent will perform a variety of tasks with significant responsibility while working independently and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all activities. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree is highly desirable. A minimum of two years of experience in medical staff operations within a healthcare environment is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous. Proficiency in statistical analysis and basic computer skills, including data entry and typing at a speed of 50+ words per minute, is required. The candidate must be adept in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Experience with credentialing software is a plus. The ability to take shorthand or rapid notes for meeting minutes is essential. The candidate must also be capable of functioning effectively under pressure and managing frequent interruptions while maintaining strong working relationships with physicians, administration, and other departments.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Preference will be given to candidates who possess or are eligible for certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) within a specified timeframe following employment.
