We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the surgical team by performing scrub and other support services for major and minor surgical procedures.
  • Use principles of aseptic techniques in preparing and maintaining instruments, supplies, and equipment on the sterile field.
  • Anticipate needs of the surgeon according to procedure and operative technique.
  • Transport surgical patients, laboratory specimens, and blood products.
  • Prepare instrumentation and supplies for surgery as necessary, including use of various methods of sterilization.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as a surgical technician and/or operating room technician.
  • 3 years of related experience, including scrubbing and circulating duties in the following surgical specialties: general surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, eye surgery, ENT, GYN, vascular, and orthopedic surgery.
  • Basic Life Support for Providers required.

Must be a US Citizen and pass a NACI background check.
