Under the guidance of experienced surgical professionals, this role serves as a vital member of the operating room team, providing essential support during complex surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist I is responsible for preparing the operating room, assembling surgical packs, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the smooth execution of surgical plans.
- Prepares and maintains the operating room, including setting up equipment, sterilizing instruments, and restocking supplies.
- Collaborates with the surgical team to anticipate and meet the needs of patients and surgeons, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience.
- Participates in the inventory and monitoring of surgical supplies and equipment, reporting any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
- Provides training and guidance to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork within the operating room.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with a strong track record of scrubbing for complex surgical procedures.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
