Asset Protection Specialist

Position Overview:


As a key member of our team, the Asset Protection Specialist reports directly to the Loss Prevention Manager and Store Manager, ensuring the safety and security of our retail environment. This role is essential in maintaining our commitment to provide a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

The Asset Protection Specialist is dedicated to fostering a secure workplace while minimizing inventory discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate store personnel on loss prevention and safety protocols, ensuring adherence to all policies and promptly informing management of any infractions.
  • Collaborate with store and loss prevention leadership in the investigation of incidents involving both internal and external parties.
Monitor the store premises and maintain a presence in designated areas as instructed by the Loss Prevention Manager.

  • Recognize potential loss risks and provide exceptional service to all customers in line with company expectations.
  • Compile detailed reports regarding safety incidents, injuries, theft, cash handling, and inventory shortages, reviewing these reports with the Loss Prevention Manager on a daily basis.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and work alongside loss prevention management to develop effective solutions.
  • Detect safety hazards or loss threats, promptly alerting management to avert accidents.
  • Assist loss prevention management with audits and inventory assessments.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Support special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including security software, CCTV systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Understanding of surveillance and security equipment and their installation.
  • Willingness to travel to various store locations as needed.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods on the sales floor as required.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and store staff.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts and percentages.
  • Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, read from computer screens, and move objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to navigate the sales floor and stockroom, involving repetitive bending, extended standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing.
Schedule Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work a schedule that accommodates business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred.

Compensation:

-$19.44 per hour

*The offered salary or salary range is determined by various factors, including overall experience, relevant qualifications, education level, certifications, applicable skills, and the location of the position.
