Job Title: Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Florida Express Environmental, LLC is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance services, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles and equipment.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, you will work on a variety of tasks, including repairs and preventive maintenance services. You will be required to perform inspections, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment. You will also utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition new parts
  • Perform all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs)
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • BS in Automotive technology
  • ASE Certifications
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience
  • Valid drivers license and must have a clean driving record
  • CDL preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
