About the Role

The University of Georgia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Superintendent to join our Facilities Management Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the operations during construction/renovation of a building or facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate new construction, repairs, renovations, remodels, or installations, working with vendors to ensure each facility meets safety standards.
  • Monitor budgets for contracts, equipment, and supplies, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform daily site visits to record job site conditions, project progress, and observations, documenting this information in a daily log.
  • Conduct safety and quality inspections while on-site, and photo document systems installations for future project management needs.
  • Attend major construction events, such as concrete pours, steel erection, and asphalt paving operations, and keep the FMD Project Manager and Director of Project Management apprised of all activities associated with the project.
Requirements
  • At least a baccalaureate degree in the field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of project delivery/construction experience in facilities, preferably with a focus on capital renewal projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency with email and electronic documents.
  • Able to read contract and construction drawings, and demonstrate leadership and initiative to address issues and opportunities that arise on the construction site.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook).

The University of Georgia offers a competitive salary range of $65,000-75,000, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
